Available Dogs/Puppies

Adoption fees:
Adoption fees are based on how much vetting has been done to that particular dog. Due to the lack of appointments on base some dogs will be free to a good home with the stipulation that the adopter will finish their vetting. Fully vetted dogs will of course have a higher adoption fee. Our fees range from $0-$300.

VIOLA

Viola was rescued today. She is estimated at 1 year old, weighs 20 pounds, has gotten her first combo shot, and is heart worm negative (yay!!). We think she is a Beagle mix and is quite a friendly and happy girl. She is good with children and other dogs and all signs are pointing to her being house-broken and a house dog in her previous life. We will update her post once she has been in foster care for a few days.

Dexter
1.5 - 2 years old and a little less than 20 pounds, Dexter is a Shiba/Ryukyu-ken mix dog. He is starting to adjust to "house-living" and starting to figure out that all of the people in the house will pet him and love on him if he lets them. He is a very sweet, but unsure boy but he gains confidence every day. If he gets overwhelmed, he will seek out a quiet place in the house and then when he feels "safe" he will come out and check to see what everyone is doing. House-training is going well after a few hiccups the first couple of days (marking territory), and he does well in the crate.
He does very much enjoy walks and acts completely at ease when on a leash. He isn't much on the active level right now but have seen hints while on a leash that he wants to be more involved but doesn't know how. He has not shown any problems with food, he has been overly timid in fact about it and approaches cautiously if we sit down next to it. He adores kids though. He is extremely gentle with them and follows them everywhere. Even from the first day he would want to be around and sit with them while they played. All in all he is very calm around the house and comes to check out at least the coming and going of us. He has been showing excitement when someone gets home and misses when someone leaves. Dexter will be going in for his vaccinations and micro-chip this week. We will update once we know more about him. Adoption fee is $100 with adopters taking care of the neuter.
